I just listened to Shawn Achor ‘s Ted talk:
The Happy Secret to Better Work.
In my opinion, it should be The Secret to a Better Life.
“Happiness is the joy we feel striving toward our potential.”

My take aways  –
I am ready for the challenge. Will you join me?

The Happiness factor
5 things to do for 21 days to increase your happiness.
If 5 are too many  – pick one!

  1. Two minutes
    Write three things you are grateful for every day. They need to be different each day and have a what and a why.
  2. Two minutes
    Journal – One thing a day that was meaningful. Bullet point the things that made it meaningful to you. The science behind this is fascinating.
  3. Fun 15
    Exercise aerobically doing something that is fun for 15 minutes every day
  4. Two Minutes
    Focus on your Breathing
    Take two minutes to do nothing but focus on your breathing – in and out.
  5. Two Minutes
    Random act of conscious kindness
    Write to one person daily – either an email or text – and express your appreciation for them.
 
Studies have shown when you do this your brain will begin to be trained toward the positive in life rather then the negative. You can break out of patterns. The pessimist has tested to move from being moderately pessimistic to moderately optimistic.Who is in? Want to give it a try?
